Henry's Big Sister

As we prepare for Henry, I wanted to take the time to appreciate our first baby...Miss Savannah.  Our little westie joined the family after Lance and I had been married for a year.  Of course, Lance and I spent many months debating getting a dog and thinking about what kind of pet would best fit in our lives.  We finally decided that a westie fit the bill and we were so excited to welcome our new bundle of joy!

When we picked her up in Georgia, one of her ears hung low but only for a day.  We thought it was adorable and managed to grab a few pics before it flipped up the next morning!  We absolutely fell in love with our new baby.
I love dressing her up and she accepts it:)  Savannah has been there through good and bad and is such a wonderful part of our family.  She is crate trained and knows a few tricks.  She never complains and is always there when we get home with lots of kisses!  She has helped us through dental school and law school and loves going on road trips.  She adores going to the beach and playing in the sand.

She is scared of trash cans and laundry baskets...or anything that has a westie face on it...ie the westie christmas stocking that her Grandmother Darlene gave her.  She has a funny way of knowing when we are grating parmesan cheese and runs to the kitchen if she even thinks its about to happen.

Sav hates feet...don't know where that came from..but she does! She loves to howl...you just have to see this to understand...but we have a family thing where Lance and I will howl and she will join in ...like a wolf-pack!!! HA! Her favorite words are front door, play, baby, grandma, cookies, friends..and her absolute favorite and one we never say....Maggie. Maggie was my childhood dog and Savannah's best friend.  We lost Maggie a little over a year ago and we miss her so much.

Of course, we have told Savannah that she will be a big sister soon.  And whether or not she understands, she has been acting different..around me and around the nursery.  Savannah loves babies already.  She always takes her toys to the TV if she hears a baby crying on a show and she absolutely loves it when my friends bring their babies to the house.  I can only imagine how much she is going to love Baby Henry and claim him as her own!  As much as we will love Henry...Savannah will always be our first baby! We love you Sav!!
